Practice

I'm just trying to get better at painting at the moment so I don't have time for anything truly conceptual (though that is the next logical step ) I think this new painting (almost there) is a good indication of what will come from now on (i'm moving away from TRUELY fantastical colour for awhile) and learning to be more subtle, though there still seems to be an expressionist slant I have fortunately not lost.

Untitled Number 2 and completed "Head-Aches" in scale comparison

Friday, 20 April 2012

New painting, I think its a new direction for me and I am quite pleased with it, I plan to do 3 more of these in a similar fashion for my degree show. I call this one "The Head-Aches" It is a large painting probably the largest I have ever done (120cm squared)

Sending the complete painting later on

Painting at Home

Uni was closed for four days so I took my painting tools home with me, it was a real struggle and I must have turpsed down a good three paintings before I looked to the artist Laura Lancaster (who happened to give me a visiting tutorial about three or four months back) Here is the result.

Four

After being told my paintings were getting a tad "muddy" and that I was forgetting myself as a painter I decided to move my work away from my uni mates so I could stop looking over my shoulder. The result is colour again! glorious colour! now to try and work on my drawing again.
